3 Children, 3 Women Missing After 10 Suspected Kuki Militants Killed In Jiribam Manipur Encounter


The 3 ladies and three kids lacking from Manipur’s Jiribam

Three kids and three ladies are lacking from Manipur’s Jiribam since yesterday after an encounter broke out between suspected Kuki insurgents and the safety forces. The Manipur Police in a press convention as we speak stated the ten killed within the encounter had sufficient firepower to create chaos within the affected space in Jiribam, close to the border with Assam.

“Security forces have launched an operation to seek for the lacking individuals. They are three ladies and three kids. The Assam Rifles, Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force will retaliate if fired upon,” a senior Manipur Police officer advised reporters within the state capital Imphal as we speak.

The police officer stated a complete of 13 internally displaced individuals had been reported lacking yesterday from Jiribam. Two have been discovered useless, 5 have been traced, and 6 are lacking, the officer stated.

The two our bodies had been of two senior residents from the Meitei group. Both had been discovered inside a construction that was set on hearth by the militants, the police officer added.

Narrating the sequence of occasions yesterday, the police officer stated the suspected militants started the assault at 2.30 pm on Borobekra police station, and moved in direction of a CRPF camp a couple of hundred metres away.

“The militants had been armed with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher, INSAS and AK assault rifles. The CRPF fired again after coming underneath assault. The gunfight lasted 45 minutes. We discovered 10 our bodies after that,” the police officer stated.
