Legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar has opened up on wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, following his exclusing from Team India’s squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy. “Pant can change the sport maybe a little bit greater than Samson and that is motive why Samson missed out. But Samson should not really feel dejected as a result of all Indian cricket lovers can have sympathy for him for what he has achieved,” Gavaskar added.

Since making his ODI debut, Samson has been out and in of group, with the selectors typically ignoring him regardless of his stellar document within the 50-over format.

He has performed simply 16 ODIs in practically a decade, scoring 510 runs at a median of 56.66 and a strike-rate of 99.60 with 100 and three fifties to indicate for his efforts.
