The medal table at the Paralympics ranks countries based on the number of gold medals they win. If two countries have the same number of golds, the number of silver medals is considered next, and if necessary, bronze medals are used to break any remaining ties. In the 2021 Paralympics, China topped the table with 96 gold medals, followed by Great Britain with 41 and the United States with 37.
For the Paris Paralympics, Great Britain aims to match or exceed their success from Tokyo 2021, where they won 124 medals. Their target is set between 100 and 140 medals. The USA, which improved its ranking from fourth in 2016 to third in 2021, hopes to challenge Britain for the second spot. France, as the host country, is aiming for 20 gold medals, a significant increase from the 11 they won in Japan.
