The BookMyShow chief govt officer and co-founder Ashish Hemrajani and the corporate’s technical head have been summoned by Mumbai Police over the alleged black advertising and marketing of tickets for exhibits of British rock band Coldplay, an official mentioned on Friday. The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has initiated a probe on the criticism of an advocate, who accused the ticketing platform of facilitating the black advertising and marketing of tickets for the Coldplay live performance on the Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, scheduled to be held from January 19 to 21, 2025.

Mr Hemrajani and the BookMyShow’s technical head have been requested to report their statements on Saturday, the official mentioned.

The advocate, Amit Vyas, filed a police criticism and alleged that Coldplay’s India tour tickets, which had been initially priced at Rs 2,500, are being resold by third events and influencers for as a lot as Rs 3 lakh.

He alleged that BookMyShow deceived the general public and Coldplay followers, and is looking for a case to be registered towards the corporate on fraud fees.
