Eight Colombian troopers died when the helicopter transporting them on a humanitarian mission crashed close to the border with Venezuela, the president stated Sunday.
The eight have been on a mission within the jap division of Vichada, President Gustavo Petro wrote on X, with out saying when the crash occurred.
The Air Force reported that the helicopter was discovered after a search in a rural space within the municipality of Cumaribo, including there have been no survivors.
Images distributed by Colombian media confirmed the burnt wreckage of the plane in the course of a grassland.
The households of the crew have been receiving help whereas a restoration mission was underway, stated the Air Force.
