Saquon Barkley had a dream debut for the Philadelphia Eagles, scoring three touchdowns in their 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Playing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, this marked the first-ever NFL game in South America, and Barkley made history by being the first player to score in the region.
Barkley racked up 109 rushing yards, catching an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second quarter to get the Eagles on the board. His standout performance made him only the second player in Eagles history to score three touchdowns in his debut, joining Terrell Owens, who achieved the same feat in 2004.
After the game, Barkley was thrilled with his performance, especially being the first to score in South America. “That’s cool,” he said, expressing his excitement. His teammates, including offensive tackle Lane Johnson and quarterback Jalen Hurts, were just as excited. Johnson recalled trying to join Barkley in celebration after each touchdown, while Hurts praised Barkley’s dynamic game, saying, “What a debut for him.”

Barkley added two rushing touchdowns later in the game, proving he’s a valuable addition to the Eagles.
