Grenade Attack At Sunday Market In J&K’s Srinagar, At Least 6 Injured

At least a dozen folks have been injured after terrorists threw a grenade at a Sunday market in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar. Those injured within the explosion have been rushed to hospital. More particulars are awaited.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the grenade assault as “deeply disturbing” and mentioned there will be no justification for focusing on civilians. “The previous few days have been dominated by headlines of assaults and encounters in components of the valley. Today’s information of a grenade assault on harmless buyers on the ‘Sunday market’ in Srinagar is deeply disturbing. There will be no justification for focusing on harmless civilians. The safety equipment should do every thing doable to finish this spurt of assaults on the earliest so that individuals can go about their lives with none worry,” Mr Abdullah mentioned in a put up on X. 

The previous few days have seen a sequence of gunfights between terrorists and safety personnel. Yesterday, a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist was gunned down in Srinagar’s Khanyar space.

Vidhi Kumar Birdi, Inspector General of Police for Kashmir, mentioned the terrorist, Usman, was a Lashkar-e-Toiba commander. “Now this operation has been accomplished. Security forces have killed a terrorist, who has been recognized as Usman…, he was the commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and 4 safety personnel have been injured. He is a overseas terrorist,” he informed information company ANI.

Earlier yesterday, safety forces gunned down two terrorists in an encounter in Anantnag district.
