Johnny & Mathew Gaudreau Died in Road Accident in New Jersey

According to press release from New Jersey state police, Johnny Gaudreau, a National Hockey Player and his brother, Matthew died on Thursday night after they were struck by a SUV car coming from behind.

Johnny Gaudreau was 31 years old, whereas Mathew was 29, Johnny Gaudreau, married in September 2022 and was a father of a baby girl named Noa Harp Gaudreau. He was one of the top U.S. player internationally known as Johnny Hockey.

According to police sources, a driver of an SUV hit Johnny and Mathew Gaudreau wile trying to pass another vehicle on the right that had moved over in order to make room for the Gaudreau. The driver, believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, now faces charges for two counts of vehicular murder.

The accident happened at night around 8:19 p.m. in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, both suffered fatal injuries on their head after hit by the SUV and died.

The National Hockey League (NHL) is deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew. Johnny, known as “Johnny Hockey,” was not only a talented player but also a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and teammate who was loved by everyone who knew him.

Both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, originally from South Jersey, were in town to be groomsmen at their sister’s wedding, which was planned for Friday in Philadelphia.
