Maharashtra, Citing Vedic Significance, Declares Cow As “Rajyamata-Gomata”

Maharashtra Government on Monday declared desi (indigenous) cows as ‘Rajyamata-Gomata’ contemplating components like their significance since Vedic interval, an official notification stated.

The different components embody the significance of indigenous cow milk in human diet, ayurvedic and panchgavya remedy and use of cow manure in natural farming, the federal government decision, issued by the state Agriculture, Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department stated.
