Main Accused In UP Durga Puja Violence Arrested From Near Nepal Border After Encounter

The predominant accused within the Durga puja associated violence in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested from close to Nepal border. Sarfaraz was attempting to flee and was caught after an encounter with the police, sources stated. He and a co-accused, Talib, had been injured and are receiving medical therapy at an area hospital, the police stated.

The clashes had began on the Mahrajganj space of Mansoor village on Sunday night, with an altercation over music performed on loudspeakers throughout the Durga idol immersion procession. 

As the matter snowballed, stone throwing and firing began, during which six individuals had been injured. A person sustained gunshot wounds and died.

The household of Ram Gopal Mishra, a resident of Rehua Mansoor village, had refused to cremate the physique and held a sit-down protest. They relented after assurances of motion from the police and administration officers. 

Tension escalated the following day, with arson and violence in some pockets and the police carried out flag marches to convey the state of affairs beneath management. More than 30 individuals had been detained in reference to the violence.
