Punjab Kings (PBKS) have parted methods with head coach Trevor Bayliss and head of cricket improvement Sanjay Bangar forward of the subsequent Indian Premier League (IPL) season, based on ESPNcricinfo. As per the report, the choice was made lately by the franchise board, which incorporates the 4 co-owners. This transfer is a part of the franchise’s efforts to revamp its teaching employees. Earlier this month, Punjab Kings appointed Ricky Ponting as their new head coach. Bayliss took over as head coach after IPL 2022, whereas Bangar joined the franchise in December 2023. The Kings, who’ve but to win an IPL title, completed eighth in 2023 and ninth the earlier season.
Interestingly, Bangar’s first affiliation with Punjab Kings was as head coach from 2014 to 2016, after which he turned the assistant coach for the Indian nationwide group.
He later joined Royal Challengers Bangalore as a batting advisor in 2021 and was subsequently promoted to move coach. In December 2023, he returned to Punjab Kings.
Bayliss changed former India captain Anil Kumble, who held the top coach place from 2020 to 2022.
In their quest for a successful system, Punjab Kings have incessantly modified coaches over the previous decade. Kumble was the fifth coach to guide the group in simply 5 seasons, following Sanjay Bangar (2014-2016), Virender Sehwag (2017), Brad Hodge (2018), and Mike Hesson (2019).
PBKS have lately signed Australia’s World Cup winner Ricky Ponting as their new head coach.
