Sloth Virus attack in U.S.

Sloth fever, also called as sloth virus, is a potentially deadly disease and has become a concern for people in United states.

The Florida Health department reported 30 new cases of sloth virus kind of symptom found in the state, these reported where confirmed after few travellers came from Cuba, there is one more case found in New York.

According to the latest news report, there are 3 such cases reported in the U.S and were hospitalized, the agency is development a urgency plan for rapid detection and response to the virus.

The centres for Disease and Prevention issues a health advisory to notify all public health authorities of an increase in the virus. The departments identified and added that sloth virus cases are reported from Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Cuba.

Why Sloth virus is deadly?

According to sources, this virus is primarily transmitted in forest areas and travels from mosquitoes to birds and animals, rodents and sloths. These birds, animals, rodents and sloths then comes in direct or indirect contact with human being, these also travels from environments.

Symptoms

The most common symptom said to appear includes:

Fever

Chills

Headache

Muscles pain

Joint stiffness

You may also infected with few other symptoms like

Dizziness

Pain behind the eyes

Nausea

Vomiting

Rash

These symptoms typically takes less than 2-7 weeks. Most human being usually takes one month or little less to recover from sloth virus fever however, some people develop serious condition like meningitis (inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord), encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), or bleeding.

Currently there are no medicines available to treat or cure sloth virus fever, however, the best way to prevent from sloth virus is to stay safe and avoid getting bites from bugs. Try spraying insects’ repellent in your surroundings, make sure to cover your windows with typical curtains which don’t allow mosquitoes to through it.

The CDC department also recommending pregnant lady to avoid travel to countries like Cuba, Brazil etc.
